Inputs

Units: SI (c in kPa, γ in kN/m³, B & D in m)

Formulas used
For Terzaghi (strip footing):
qult = c·Nc + q·Nq + 0.5·γ·B·Nγ
where q = γ·D is the overburden at footing level. Net capacity: qnet,ult = qult - q
Allowable net: qnet,all = qnet,ult / FS,
Allowable gross: qall = qnet,all + q
Bearing capacity factors from φ: Nq = eπ·tanφ·tan²(45°+φ/2), Nc = (Nq−1)/tanφ.
For φ ≈ 0: Nq ≈ 1, Nc ≈ 5.7, Nγ ≈ 0.
Meyerhof adjusts with empirical shape and depth factors.
