Axle Load → ESAL / VDF Converter

Convert axle-load survey data to total ESAL and vehicle damage factor (VDF) using LEF = (W / Wstd)ⁿ.

1. Global parameters

Typically 80 kN for single standard axle.
4th power law: n ≈ 4. Adjust if your code specifies differently.
If provided, VDF F = total ESAL / this number.

For each axle-load class i: LEFᵢ = (Wᵢ / Wstd)ⁿ, ESALᵢ = Nᵢ · LEFᵢ. Total ESAL = Σ ESALᵢ, VDF F = (Total ESAL) / (Total commercial vehicles).
